Job Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet communication needs
  • Utilize communication methods such as ASL, oral communication, or total communication
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and support staff
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Support students’ academic, social, and communication development
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal education regulations
  • Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
